tips - How to Avoid Getting Age Spots
Age
spots, also known as liver spots, are common in fair-skinned
people over 50 years of age.
Steps:
-
Use sunscreen when you go out, paying particular attention
to your face and hands. Age spots are caused by a lifetime
of exposure to the sun, so the sooner you start wearing
sunblock, the less likely it is that you'll get them.
-
Make sure you choose a sunscreen that blocks UVA and UVB
rays and has an SPF of at least 15.
-
Wear a long-sleeved shirt and wide-brimmed hat when you
know you'll be in the sun.
-
Try to minimize exposure to sunlight between 10 a.m. and
2 p.m., when sunlight is strongest.
-
Use alpha-hydroxy lotions to keep skin smooth and clear.
Tips:
Bleaching
agents can help fade the age spots you do have. You can buy
them at the drugstore.
