Diet
rich in vitamins and minerals
Good health begins with good nutrition,
and good nutrition starts with a balanced diet. The Food and
Nutrition Board's Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA's) are
"designed for the maintenance of good nutrition of practically
all healthy people in the United States." Keep in mind
that your needs may be different if you have an illness. Please
consult with your doctor or dietitian if you have any questions
or concerns about your health. The RDA's are divided into
18 categories based on gender, age, and whether a woman is
pregnant or lactating. The 10th and latest edition was published
in 1989. The RDA's listed on CyberDiet's vitamin and mineral
links are for adults from 19 years of age to 51 plus years
of age. Please complete the Cyberdiet Nutritional Profile
for your individual needs if you are pregnant or lactating,
or if you are less than 19 years of age. As the RDA committee
states, "Since the toxic levels for many trace elements,
copper, manganese, fluoride, chromium and molybdenum, may
be only several times usual intakes, the upper levels for
these trace elements should not be habitually exceeded."
