Malkit Singh --Undying Popularity

Remember the hit song ofd the early 90's Tutak Tutak Tutiyan ,Hey jama lo,which was on the lips of oldand young alike and set hundretsof feet tapping and an equal numberof hearts racing?Well, the singer was none other than Malkit Singh, one of the pioneers of British Bhangrawho has been relentlessly taking the music of the Punjab to audiences far and wide. After the platinum successes of Midas Touch and Forever Gold and a passport that lists 22 countries on tour, he hasd made a comeback ns with yet another stunning musical expedition certain to leave his legions of fans exhilarated once again!

"A seamless collection of dance-powered anthems and honey-sweet ballads" is how "Akh Larr Gayee" is being described, the 16th album of Malkit Singh's career. Recorded in Mumbai with renowned music directors Jaidev & Babloo, Malkit has gone back into musical time and produced an album which will leave a distinct mark on the Bhangra history. Bringing back the true essence of real Bhangra with the lyrics, music and sound dominant mood.

The opening track justifies the new-wave Bhangra genre, talking traditional 'desi' Bhangra from the sleepy villages of Punjab, to a global "pop" audience. The video to Kuk-du-Kadoon is currently on heavy rotation on all major Asian networks world-wide and the style and format of the video make it one of the most unique and progressive Bhangra videos ever made. Has Has Ke, Dum Lae Lae and Maria Toon Ghera further enhance the dance scenario, while Malkit's stunning vocal presence on Pathran dee Dunia and Pyar Nah Karin shows his immense depth and power of voice. Tur Pardes Gaiyon (Jagga) which was recorded in England, is aimed at the younger Golden Star fans - for their stereos, cars and DJ sound systems !

To boost his global status as the "King of Bhangra", Malkit Singh has teamed up with the "RaggaMuffin" himself Apache Indian on the single Independent Girl, which will be released on Apache's Real People album in October. Look out for the release soon !

A must-buy for Bhangra fans everywhere as it hits the top of the Bhangra charts everywhere. Don't miss the continuing saga of this legend. Malkit Singh and the 10 track Akh Larr Gayee, a stunning combination.
