Gracy Singh speaks about herself :

My acting career was not planned, either on TV or in films. I belong to Delhi and I used to do dance shows in Delhi, I've even done a bit of modelling.

I shifted to Mumbai to do BR Chopra's 'Main Dilli hoon'. I started it as a hobby and wasn't very serious about acting. I wasn't even interested in taking up any other serial but later I decided that it was the best career to choose because I had no other careers in mind.

I was doing my graduation when Amaanat happened. Pandhari Juker who is a senior make up artist introduced me to Sanjeev Bhattacharya who was then casting for Amaanat. He preferred new comers and Punjabi girls, keeping the serial in mind. And since I was one, he chose me.
I did mention to him that I was inexperienced but I think he liked my expressions. Slowly I was groomed and got a chance to show a range of emotions through this serial. I discovered my own ability to act and I was comfortable that I could act naturally.

My character in Lagaan is very bubbly. I play the daughter of a vaid. My name is Gauri. I'm simple, innocent and exuberant. A responsible and caring girl and a laadli of the villagers. She's in love with Bhuvan (Aamir) since childhood but can't tell him. There's this other girl a foreigner, Elizabeth (Rachel), also in love with Bhuvan, so Gauri is very jealous.
